Just opened the Rifle forum and was hit with several World News threads–not Winchester.

Around the same time our forum was revamped, my computer needed a new hard drive.

Are several non-Winchester topics going to be a common hurdle to regular Rifle threads, or is my new computer system a piece of garbage?

Because this is the Winchester forum, I feel I must talk a bit of rifle here—Deer season is still on here in Western Oregon.  While out this evening, I was contentedly carrying my ’94 .25-35 Takedown equipped with an A5 scope.  (Before you bash for scoping an old lever–that’s how it was when I bought it.)  Love the combination for my older eyes.  All my other takedowns have tang sights which are much more practical for the low-light woods hunting over here.  No deer to take home, but saw two nice bucks after dark while I was headed out of the woods.

I had not visited here for a while and I see three recent non-Winchester related posts by one individual.

I have not “played” with my Winchesters for a while.   I need to “rectify that” . . . Smile

I think we got a spammer on here last night and left use some world news. I see other sites have alert buttons to notify the moderators when it happens.

Too great a forum here to be distracted by such annoyances as the recent posts!  But I’m seeing far few of our own folks posting!  What’s happening here???

That said, I’d sure like to see more about the Winchester bolt action models such as the Model 70 and 54, etc.  I understand this is principally a lever forum.  But frankly, just more posts on Winchester rifles in general would be nice.  You lever experts can just perhaps bend a bit!  In the mean time, let’s see more of our posts!!!

Just my take!

When they changed over it was down for a week which lost some people, I know it took me a few more days to figure out how to get back on (they used a new URL for the forum) and then we have bugs where some people can’t unload photos or as I suspect the math test before you post is keeping them from posting.

The members that post here are posting about guns that they collect or shoot and it just turns out that most of them are lever collectors. Feel free to ask question or post about your guns, there are probable some members that can help you or wouldn’t looking at a Winchester.
