I captured this still (no pun intended) from the Ken Burns documentary on Prohibition that was on PBS last night. Any thoughts as to ID of the rifle?

Photograph is blurry but to me it appears to have a carbine butt, a barrel band at the end of the barrel, like a carbine, but a forearm like a rifle. I wonder if it might not even be a Winchester. Perhaps a Marlin?

Photo may have been out of focus to begin with, and/or it’s deteriorated with age, as celluloid movie film frequently does when not stored properly. Look how the size of the rear sight is exaggerated.

Roger that. Photo was taken from TV so not good quality to start with. I was wondering if it might be Marlin but I was leaning toward Win. 30 Special due to how rear site looks. Maybe custom made for Feds. ?
