My aging sister doesn’t use computers. She wrote me a letter asking how to value and sell her deceased husband’s 2 guns. She describes them as “Theodore Roosevelt Commemorative Winchester Model 94 Lever Action Repeating Rifle, 30-30 Winchester 26″ octagonal barrel Made in USA. #326379. G9454R #4246 and G9455 #5249. In the box and decorative sleeve.”
Where do I go to look these up? Where would it be best to post them for sale?
Thank you for your consideration on this matter.
(PS – I have owned guns for 50+ years, but only for recreation and protection, not as a collector.)

Hi Jim,
If she has both the rifle and carbine in the TR commems like pictured here: https://www.gunbroker.com/item/1058154585 you can figure around $2000 give or take for both. They’re not particularly valuable or sought after of the commemoratives but if they’re both NIB someone will want them eventually at a reasonable price. If I were you, I’d list them together on GB or GI and undercut the current listings for a better chance at sale.
The post-63 guns aren’t all that popular over here as our group tends to focus on pre-64 stuff, although there are a few commems that I do like and would buy if given the opp.

I think listing them together would mean less for each than if sold individually. A potential buyer might already have one or the other.
I’d like to have one of the TR medallions, but not enough to buy the gun to get it.

Sometimes yes, some maybe not. I’ve gotten a “set” before simply because it saved me half the time looking for the other. 6 of one half dozen of the other I’m afraid. Depends on how much they want to mess with them.

I don’t know what numbers You are refering to, the Winchester Theodore Roosevelt Commemoratives were mfg. in 1969, there were 52386 rifles &carbines produced , and they had a “TR” prefix to the serial number, so I don’t know what numbers, (G9454 & 9455) You are refering to. They would be worth more , to a collector as a sequentialy numbered pair.
