Yes there is a fix for it… stop closing the action like it is a glass door. It was meant to be closed with some authority.

I wish I could find the publication an old friend used to quote, he would say the Winchester action should be cycled “smartly”. I always smile when I remember him passing along that little gem.

I also forgot to mention if you’re using factory ammo, try some different brands/designs. I have a newer lever in 45 Colt that is VERY finicky and likes Hornady Leverevolution but hates the cowboy action (HSN? HSM>) brand. It behaves just like you’re mentioning when it doesn’t like the brand.
