Hello Everyone,

My grandfather is wanting to gift me his Model 1894 .30 WCF Rifle with an octagonal barrel. However, it has been missing a screw located to the front of loading slot near the bottom for as long as I can remember. Can anyone tell me what that screw is and where I may be able to buy one? I would like to clean and fix it before he gives it to me so we can both go shooting with while he is still somewhat able to.

Along with that, any recommendations on cleaning it and suggested maintenance tips would be appreciated! I’d imagine the rifle hasn’t been fired in a few decades.
