OfflineThe most important thing to do is have the serial number checked with Cody to see if it is a real short rifle if it is a rifle not a carbine. A short barrel rifle will have a shorter forearm depending on the barrel length. Get picture and post them and we can tell you what it is and its worth. If the barrel is shorter than 16″ it better be a honest gun (not shortened) or you will have legal issues. You can email me at the below address.

OfflineTony, A 20″ short rifle would have a 8 3/8″ forearm from the factory but a carbine has a 20″ barrel if its standard. The serial number would tell you what it is. It takes one to two business days to get the information from Cody. I wouldn’t buy a short rifle without the Cody check unless its cheap. What determines its value is Configuration, originality and condition.

OfflineTony,
You can’t get hurt at $1000 if it functions and is a real 73 not a repo.
