I have a 92 with foreign proof marks. With the little bit of research I did, I believe they are British. Is it possible this rifle went for a ride across the pond and came back?

Those look like early provisional proofs from the London proof house.  So I would say yes, it definitely went to England and came back.

Neat variation.

Over the past few decades, I have seen and handled several hundred British proofed Winchesters. I have a Model 1885 high-wall in my collection that made the trip over and back.

Hello Erin,

I have been conducting a research survey of the Model 1892 rifles for almost 5 years now and have seen a good number of British proofed rifles.  I also own a couple of them.  Can  I please get the serial number and some additional photos of your rifle so that I can add it into my work?

Thanks
