Will the forearm cap from others fit the 1873 with round barrel ? Say an 1882 or others?

There is no 1882, but maybe you meant 1892?  I’m not sure if the 1892 or 1894 cap will fit?? Someone will know and hopefully chime in.

There are no other nose caps that will interchange with the ’73.  Should be a fairly  easy pat to find.  Keep in mind that there are two barrel diameters on the ’73 rifle.  Both sizes were considered standard.  One is 23/32nds  across the muzzle and the other was 27/32nds.

You need on one for the caliber you have. The 44 barrel is larger than the 38 and 32. The 38 has  larger mag tube than the 32. So you need a round barrel cap for the specific caliber. They are on Ebay almost every day. You just have to verify they are selling the correct one since they usually don’t have a clue what they are selling. Have measurements of your barrel at the cap, tube and the width of the forearm wood at the step when you ask questions.
