Just purchased my first Winchester rifle. It’s a pre-64 that looks like its done a bit of hunting. Chambered in 30 W.C.F. , the action is very smooth and the bore is bright and shiny. I live in California, so the gun is in “Jail” for 10 days. Will be shooting it on day 11!
Question for Winchester aficionados: Based on the serial number (1257509) what year was my rifle made?
Thanks in advance for any help!

Bert, do you know how many rifles like mine were manufactured in 1940? Thanks!
Winchester manufactured 43,398 Model 94 receiver frames in the year 1940. Of that number, 12.4% (5,381) were used to assemble Model 64 Rifles, leaving 38,017 for the Model 94 production. Of the 38,017 Model 94s, approximately 22,000 of them were made in 30 WCF.
