It’s a boring Sunday afternoon, so I thought I’d get out the camera and share some photos of my favorite 1894.  I bought this rifle about a year and a half ago at the Oregon Arms Collectors gun show.  It is in near new condition, minus a little (unfortunate) flaking blue on the receiver.  However, that little bit of flaking helps prove originality of the finish in my opinion.

Very impressive!   I like the oil finish wood.  Thanks for sharing.

Pretty spectacular, Don. I can’t find anything I don’t like about this rifle, nice pics too.

nice 94 – I too like the appearance of the oiled finish. How common was it to note the finish in the ledger, whether oil or varnish? I have not owned a 94 deluxe where the letter mentioned the finish.
