HI. I’m new here and hope to learn alot from you guys. Have loved Winchesters all my life and now that I am retired, have time to enjoy what I have. My question is can I safety fire current factory ammo in my newly aquired orginial 1895 rifle ? It is caliber 30-40. Not to bad of shape. I would rate it at good to very good. What a neat old rifle it is. Thanks for your replies. Dale.

The short answer is Yes, you can shoot any factory loaded 30/40 Krag ammo in your old Winchester.
