Have you noticed how these late models have a “ripple” effect on the stocks? (Sanding NOT great!)
The bluing is flawless . . . The wood, not so much!
This Hornet has them, as does my “High Grade” M9422 (new-in-the-box)

The quality of the “fit & finish” noticeably declined in the post-WW II years, and was downright poor before the great debacle in 1964.
