My uncle gifted me a model 70, .243, heavy barrel about 15 years ago.  The serial number on the side is 764842 and it has the matching serial engraved on the bottom of the bolt.   I’m just trying to learn a little about the gun, when it was made, etc.

Dan,

Your Model 70 was manufactured in the year 1965. Can’t say much else about it without seeing some clear pictures of it.
