I purchased a Japanese 1892 Winchester in 45 Colt.  It was new in the box, unfired.  It has the etched engraving on the receiver and a rather nicely figured stock.  I understand these were manufactured between 1997 and 1999.  I have a 1998 Winchester catalog which shows the rifle but in a grade one which appears to not have the etched engraving.  Does anyone know the year the etched engraving was made available?  Just trying to learn more about the rifle.  I understand it’s not an old Winchester, but I like the looks of it right away.  The price was right.  Why not!Laugh

I agree, sounds like you got yourself a nice rifle.

Post a photo if it’s convenient.

I hope this comes out ok.  I have a Mountain Lion hunt coming up and I want to use this.

Nice enough, what load are you planning to hunt with? I’d shy away from the heavy loads unless the Miroku is significantly stronger than the Winchester.

225 Hornady LEVERevolution for right now.  I have not look into the reloading manual yet.
