What was the cost of Winchester 94 30-30 in 1899
Sporting Rifle or Saddle Ring Carbine?
Take Down or Solid frame?
Octagon barrel or Round barrel?
The answers to my questions will provide the correct answer to your question.

I have the 1895 catalog. The prices didn’t change much by today’s standards…but since a $1 a day was basic pay, .50 cents was a half a day’s pay!!
1895
Basics
- Winchester Model 73′ 24″ Octagon – $19.50 (.32, 38 and 44), 38 & 44 bp cartridges – $19.00 (.32 – $16.00) per 1,000 = $38.50, (.32 – $35.50)
- Winchester Model 94′ 26″ Octagon – $19.50 (32-40, 38-55), 32-40 bp cartridges – $27.00 per 1,000 = $46.50
- Winchester Model 94′ 26′ Round Nickel Steel – $23.00 (25-35 Smokeless, .30(-30) Smokeless) 25-35 smokeless cartridges – $37.00 per 1,000, .30-30 smokeless cartridges – $38.00 per 1,000 = $60.00 and $61,00.
Being a $1 was basically a day’s wages….
- $35.50 – .32 Black Powder
- $38.50 – .44 Black Powder
- $46.50 – .38-55 Black Powder
- $60.00 – .25-35 Smokeless
- $61.00 – .30-30 Smokeless
