This thread from a few weeks ago morphed into collector values and what people desired and a recent auction really showed what collectors are willing to pay for certain rifles. The price for the ’86 reflects some rarity but what about the Marlin and the highwall. Sharps LR Borchardts (230 total made) and schuetzen ’85’s have plummeted in value.

The low auction prices on the Model 1885s is because neither one of them is factory original, most notably the rifle with the Malcolm scope. Both have none original barrels on them. I personally believe that they sold for an appropriate price.
