What you are seeing is not a “tab”… it is actually the bottom surface of the barrel you are seeing inside the retangular cut-out in the take down extension ring.

These pictures should clarify it for you;

To all, Bert is correct. It is not a “tab” but the bottom flat of the barrel. Not able to get a complete picture from only one side.
