Interesting, I never realized Winchesters used in movies were actually made by Winchester, assumed they were just some sort of insignificant “prop” guns.
I guess it shouldn’t really surprise me as I have a friend who is a custom knifemaker that made several knives and hawks for the move “The Last of the Mohicans”. Also, I purchased a classic Corvette from a guy in Alabama years ago who restored old LaSales and Cadillacs for movie use. When I was there he had several cars in the shop being restored for the movie “Bugsy” with Warren Beatty. I guess there’s no wonder it costs 50>100 million to make some movies these days, it’s certainly not like they are thrifty.
I assume Winchesters documented to have been used in movies by top actors, such as John Wayne would be highly collectable.
