Happy kid with his extra heavy octagon 40-82!
We just got done test firing it in the headlights.
It’s not feeding out of the magazine very well. Its been extensively cleaned, we just ordered a new magazine spring from Numrich hopefully that’ll fix the issue.
Any suggestions?

OfflineCongrats! Did you run a patch through the magazine tube? If so spring is the easiest and most obvious fix. I’ve found gunk and some odd stuff in magazine tubes.

Good point Mike. I have found “twisted’ springs also. How they got that why I’ll never know.

OfflineExcept for the late 86s and takedowns the original mag tube is long enough to poke into the receiver recess. If it was cut or replaced by a shorter tube that ended in the forearm it normally worked. The repair was to cut the short tube in half under the middle of the forearm and add a short piece of magazine tube. The front part of the tube with the slot for the barrel band pin is not affected and your piece of tube does not require welding or blueing, the spring is held in place by the wood, and nobody can see it.
In your case maybe the tube is the problem. Is the front of the tube placed correctly at the muzzle? Is there a pin in the barrel band? Are we taking about a full magazine? T/R
