It has been a while since last time I been here and wanted to share the Model 1892 I recently found. I messed up…title should read 32-20!!!!
According to the serial number it was made in 1908 and has a 24 inch octagonal barrel which appears to be in excellent condition and wonder if it
was replaced at some point? If original barrel the blue survived very well where the receiver shows typical wear. The proof stamps on barrel and receiver look to match. Does the Circle P indicate a replacement barrel from Winchester? The rifling is very good…disregard the dust in it as I have not cleaned it yet! The action is clean and functions nice and smooth.
It will be a shooter and be very well taken care of and hang along with my earlier 1892 in .44-40
Looking for the icon to post up pictures but can’t find it.

Yes, the circle (P) proof mark does indicate a replacement barrel (sometime after 1914).
