I figure it must be about time for Tom to add a .45-90 carbine to his collection. And why not make it an engraved one? This one has a very fun factory letter:
By the way, this carbine has me drooling. I can’t think of any piece currently out on the market that I would like more than this one.

The guy who wins that carbine will be “stylin” when he walks around with it
In what the TxGunNut calls our “MetroMess,” it would not serve its owner well to be stylin’ with that carbine publicly, at least while his head is in Condition White and his carbine is in Condition Zero.
Even if the new owner acts with the best of intentions — to just give the locals a break — some poor, disadvantaged cocaine dealer might come to harbor envious thoughts, insert a Glock up said owner’s nose and exit stage left with the carbine. It happens with Gold Rolex Presidents and other trophies, with depressing regularity.
Am I lyin’ to somebody?

And I’m surprised the letter doesn’t mention the engraved scenes. Even in 1897 that had to be more than “five dollars” worth of engraving.
