Isn’t this a beauty? Note all the rare characteristics. Especially the magazine variation

A shame that someone reblued it! As it is a1st. model with a round barrel, most being oct. I wouldn’t mind having one like it with 30-40% blue

I believe this is a first year with the full length barrel ( I’m asking)? But it doesn’t have the 10 o clock screw. I like this old gun wish it didn’t have the swivel in the stock!

What are they talking about when they say "opening over the loading port"?

In my research survey of the 1st variation Model 1894, your rifle is the lowest serial numbered 38-55 with a 2nd variation frame. Serial number 545 is the lowest serial numbered 2nd variation I have found thus far, but it is a 32-40.

It is not a "1st" year Model 1894. It was manufactured in October of 1895, 13-months after production began.
