I would like to get the Campbell books on the Win 1885 Single shot , could anyone give a brief comment on the difference between Vol 1 and Vol 2,
also does anyone know of availability In Canada ?

I don’t know the difference in the two but it is about 100 bucks in price on amazon.com

I have both copies and they are excellent references for the 1885’s along with a lot of Winchester history and some notes about various other models as well. As for volume two, it is just a continuation of even more detail that was not discussed in the first one. I think more information was discovered after he had the first book published. I recommend them both but volume one was about as much as I could absorb so had to take a break and got the second one a year or so later.

Phil,

I agree that you should plan to acquire both Volume 1 and Volume 2. John Campbell did an admirable job with both books, but there are a few areas he did not cover adequately or accurately. I am slowly working on a new book that will cover the Model 1885 production in more detail.
