Hi Folks,
I have not collected Winchesters before. I had a 1951 94 that I wish I had never let go.
Just picked up the most amazing little 1948 model 74 that is factory original and perfect. When I went to pick it up the gentleman say’s "her is the box". I was overwhelmed.
How often would someone come across a box for a rifle in this class of Winchester collections?
Some other "Winchester collector" said it made the package worth over $1500.00. I don’t believe that but, I cant find any boxes anywhere to reference sale.
Anywho. Great forum. Lot’s of good reading.
Thanks.

One time during high school (mid 1970’s) I was in Grandmas upstairs looking for a small box for something. She had lots and lots of small boxes in her upstairs store room.
I opened a box and inside the box was another box I opened that box and inside was the box the knife they used to cut their wedding cake with some 40 years earlier.
I asked her if she still had the knife. She said "why no that wore out long ago" I asked her then why did she still have the box.
She said: "well you never know when you might need a small box for something" LOL
So chances are theres Winchester boxes out there some where just waiting for a good use.
