The photo shows 3 lower tangs of Model 94s. The oldest one is on the left and the newest one is on the right. You will notice that the higher serial number on the right has the same style lower tang as the older gun, 2 screws. I thought that when Winchester started making the Carbines only they did away with the extra screw. Maybe this is explained in the Model 94 book but I don’t have my reference books with me.
