Just found this one yesterday at a local gun show…but since I´m not very familiar with model 1890 – never owned one before this – I posted these pictures in order to get some help. I guess there´s someone out there who knows more about these cute little rifles than me.
So, does the gun look alright? I didn´t find any marks of refinishing, the wood and metal seems to me as factory-finished. The blueing is about 99 % on the barrel and I´d estimate 85-90% on frame. The sides of the frame are nearly "mirror-like", only small pitting spots are visible. The wood is nearly perfect, only minor handling marks on the sides of the stock, the pump handle is almost like new. No scrathces, splits or added varnish. As you may see, the wood is still proud to the frame. The inside of the barrel is about mint.
So, what do you think from the pictures? Is it a professional refinish or a original, over 100 years old gun in beautiful condition? The price was ridiculous, what might be the estimated value based on what you can see in the pics? Any comments would be appreciated.

Thanks for the replies, you gentlemen confirmed my own opinion…well, the "ridiculous" price was about the same as what you would pay for a modern-day bolt-action plinker-class .22 rifle, so I didn´t think too long when I started to realize that the gun was not refinished. Yesterday afternoon I picked a few boxes of Winchester .22 Long ammo from the local gun store, and when the weather gets better (wet snow keeps coming all the time) I´ll go to the range and do some shooting with this little beauty.
By the way, Madis book says date of manufacture being 1907, does anybody know more about that?
