Now that CFM records office is closed for the weekend does someone have
the correct manufacture year for Model 1886 Takedown 40-65 S/N#87331.
The other lists online which are never correct show it as 1894, but as CFM has shown me this might be off 2-3 years. Once I get the rifle back from the gunsmith Ill try to post some photos.

Looks like early 1894 from the books I have. Someone else may be able to narrow down the month.

Get a copy of Larry and Bert’s book "The Red Book of Winchester Values" and it has the most current and collector accepted compilation of serialization for all models thru 1963. It will track with anything the CFM will give you at least for the correct year. Of course, if you want it down to the day you will have to contact CFM if its within the available records. It’s available on Gunbroker just by typing Red Book in your search.
