What is the standard length (exact) for the barrel? Is it 24 & 1/4"? Also, what should the distance be between the muzzle and the centre of the dovetail for the front sight? I seem to recall 15/16" but I think I’ve also heard exactly 1". Is it the same dimension for the other models as well? (’76, ’86, ’92)

I measured a few barrels that I had in a parts bin and they are 24 5/16". I measured a few guns, from a first model to one about 500,000 and they all seem to be about the same as close as I can measure.

The front sight slot varies quit a bit but 15/16 would be a average, I have measured one first model that was close to 1" and a third model about .9"
