I was just on the phone with them and they said that section 3 is now on-line.
Lot 1052 They are claiming DOM of 1896 but should be Aug. of 1899.Paul
Yes, I saw that as well first time I read that listing. That is a very nice 94. I have my eye on a few of them, but pretty sure I have narrowed it down to the one I’m going after…maybe two. Scared to see the prices though if their other recent auctions are any indication.
That Van Orden rifle is a fine looking gun. Interesting history I was not aware of.

Matt,
There is an interesting history behind them and the George Van Orden Marine Corps history. Actually I don’t know much about the rifles at all. One would figure that it would have sling swivels and scope blocks, but this one seems to have been made for a customer with different ideas.

If I can find some time, I’ll have to do a bit of reading on the subject. Going to keep my eye on this one, and see how it does.

For me this is one of the biggest detriments of the internet .I have a couple weeks pre action to research stuff and of course the more I find, the more interesting it is ,and how much of a treasure it is, and I know how much I really need it . Lucky I dont bid US auctions, but need to stay off all temptation sites
Yes, there are some great Henrys!
