For the sake of a learning opportunity, could you expand on why that is? Would it have anything to do with the knurl on the adj. sleeve and the LYMAN MIDDLEFIELD CONN U.S.A. marking on the base? Another reason I’m asking is "Lyman" is stamped just below the adj. sleeve with lower case very similar to the front sight I asked about here awhile back.
Thanks much,
Brad

Brad,
It is the "LYMAN MIDDLEFIELD CONN U.S.A." marking on the sight base. That marking was not used on any of the tang sights I have found on Winchesters manufactrured through the year 1919. I have inspected several hundred Winchester rifles with factory installed Lyman tang sights that letter with them, and none of them have that marking on them.

Thanks again Bert. We will do dinner at the Reno show so I can finally put a face to all my answers. Yes, I am buying too. Many thanks, Big Larry
Larry,
The dinner will have to wait until a later show 🙁 . I (for the first time in more than 10-years) will not be able to attend the April Big Reno show. My regular job has me traveling off site for several weeks this coming April.
