Trying to replace the broken Marbles front sight on a 1910 SRC with a period correct blade.  Have heard that it should be a blued blade, a “silver” blade, or either.  Could anyone tell me what the correct original would have been on a 1910 carbine?  Having been looking at the blued offered by Homestead (http://homesteadparts.com/shopcart/pid_1457.htm) and silver from Bob’s Gun Shop (http://www.gun-parts.com/winchesterrifle/), but unsure how authentic they are.

Also, I see references to “antique” 92 SRC’s.  Is there an actual date before which a 92 is considered antique?

Thanks.

You can buy original sight blades from Ebay  rather than going the repo route. Any gun made before 1899 is considered antique.

Bob

I just checked and there is non on there now. The one from Homestead looks good.

Bob,

Hadn’t had any luck on Ebay, but since you confirm they do occasionally have them I’ll go that way.  Thanks – much appreciated!

Late in the year 1964.  Pre-1964 Model 94 serial numbers ended with 2600011.
