Hello all, just joined the site and am looking for some info on 5 M94s I just inherited from a relative.  There are 2 30-30’s and 3 .32WS’s.  Their serial numbers put them all pre-64 per your database.

The 2 30-30’s numbers are: 21752xx and 23639xx.  Both are in NRA Good-VG condition.  There is no rust or pitting anywhere including the bores.  21752xx does have a dent in the stock, but other than that the wood on both is VG.  Here’s a pic.  21752xx on top.  The bluing on the receiver of 23639xx looks thin due to the light, it is just as good as 217’s.

The 32 serial#s are: 11335xx, 11892xx, 25108xx.  11335xx bluing is pretty thin on the receiver, lever and front band.  Barrel is not pitted inside and out and the blueing is still pretty good, probably 70%.  11892xx looks “too good” to me, I think it was re-blued at some point in it’s life.  Bore is in good shape.  25108xx is the best of the .32s and ranks right up there with the 30/30s as far as condition.  In the pic below 113 top, 118 middle and 251 bottom.

I’m wondering if anyone can give an approximate value for insurance purposes.  I am not a collector of civilian Winchester rifles, so my knowledge is pretty thin on what the market is like.  I shoot and collect more US Vintage military firearms.  Of course if I can answer any of your questions, please do not hesitate to ask.  Thanks much!

It looks like you have inherited a nice group of carbines there Art.  I’m not the one to value them and they are a little later than what I’m mostly interested in.  Thanks for posting the pictures anyway, it looks like you are off to a good start with these.  Welcome to WACA.

Brad

Hello Art,

The three post WW II production Carbines are all in the $750 – $850 range.  I need to see better pictures of the two pre WW II Carbines to get a feel for the graded condition.  If you can do so, send pictures to me at [email protected], and please provide the complete serial numbers so that I can add them to my research survey.
