Agreed! If anyone has an untouched 1886 for sale at a “fraction” of the $2,800 price, please PM me at once!!

As illustrated by several of the examples posted, this is generally quite true in the Model 1886 – except when we’re talking .33WCF! And trust me, I’m not one to knock .33’s – I love them. So much so I even two in the Marlin M1895 model.
I started to look at some of the listing Don posted. The first one:
Winchester 1886 takedown 33 WCF for sale (gunsinternational.com)
Who here, doesn’t think that rifle is a good $1000 overpriced?
I think what we have going on here is Internet pricing. Gunbroker, gunsinternational et al, it’s the internet world. The internet world and reality often don’t go together.
Alright, this is more like it. I think their original price of $3000 was high but now, at $1900 – this looks reasonable to me. Look at the condition compared to the one I posted above it. This one is vastly superior:

WOW, maybe there’s a chance I might get my 3 grand back on my 33 cal. 1886.But mine only has one extra hole for the Lyman #21 and not refinished! RDB
The 21 ADDS value, not subtracts it! On the other hand, I ‘d have to say you didn’t exactly steal it.
