See an early 90s 7mm Remmag that has all the papers, box etc being sold as as a SG but has studs not inletted swivels. Could that be correct ?

Have not handled it so have not seen floorplate or barrel stamping.

What should I be looking for ? Thanks !

The SG has sling swivel bases (not studs) that are inlet into the stock and utilize a detachable swivel.

That’s what I thought too.

His says "Super Grade" on the barrel (roll stamped) has a SuperGrade floorplate but no ebony forearm tip. Has correct red pad. Says he bought the 7mm RemMag and a 338 WM and the dealer also had a 300 WM as well all were the same with Super Grade box and papers (box has, as you know, serial # on it). This is in about 1992.
Winchester did a lot of odd thinks as they were fading away.
Remeber having a "special edition 2008" 270 FW that was a POS in all aspects, then I bought a later NH 270 FW that I thought was an FN as it was so beautiful and drove tacks.
(and doesn’t have the stupid FN trigger)

Mystery to me.
