I traded for this today. Someone on here chime in and let me know if this looks in as good of shape as it does to me. I’m just an amateur collector. I however, have never seen one of this age in this nice of condition. Thank you!

I feel pretty sure the metal has been refinished and the buttstock is wrong. Maybe other problems but it’s been a long day.

You nailed it down nicely… refinished, replaced butt stock & butt plate.

Well sir, I trust your judgment! I have spoken to you on here in the past. This is exactly why I posted it on here. I knew you’d tell it the way it is. I have bought, I think this one makes 4, Winchester 1894 models. The first three were old, and looked old, but this one pulled me in. I thought maybe somehow, someway I had found a nice little gem. Oh well, I am moving forward from here. I have read lots of posts on here since yesterday, and mainly the one you posted about what to look for. I’m certainly going to restrain myself from now on, and pay much more attention while examining rifles.
