Hello all, I new to the forum and to collecting winchester rifles so have a lot of questions. I have a 1947 model 94 in very good condition but have never seen one with a metal end cap on fore stock. Has anyone seen one of these or have any knowledge about this I would certainly appreciate it. ThanksIMG_1613.JPGImage Enlarger

Ken,

Someone (other than Winchester) installed a Sporting Rifle forend nose-cap on your Carbine’s forestock… it most certainly does not belong there.  I additionally noted that the barrel band is installed backwards.  It appears that someone without the requisite knowledge decided to rework the gun, and they did not get it right.
