I just want to share a few photo’s of a 1895 sporting rifle ser#95072 in .30 Army with the 28″ barrel I picked up on GB last week. I was wondering if the sights were something the factory did or was added by a owner at some point. I really like the rear sights and long barrel with my tired old eyes.

The rear sight is most likely an old “period” replacement by a past owner addition.

Thanks Bert! I figured it was added later.

It looks like maybe a model no. 51 King

it is stamped D.W. KING PAT. MAR.5.07.

If you can still see well enough to shoot accurately with open sights, your eyes are definitely not tired!

If you don’t know it, Marble’s also owned the Sheard Co.
