Hello,
I have a Winchester 1895 High Grade in .30-06 that I am thinking of selling, and I’m trying to get a handle on value. I haven’t been able to find much online to go by, just a few old auctions. Any assitance from the collectors here would be greatly appreciated. I’m mostly a Ruger guy, and spend some time over at the Ruger forum (Flyrod over there); don’t have much knowledge about Winchesters.
I bought the rifle new, sort of an impulse buy after reading about the virtues of the 1895 design. I took it to the range once, shot a box of ammo, carefully cleaned it, put it in a gun sock (to protect against safe dings) and it has sat in the back of my safe for 20+ years. I still have the box and everything it came with; the box is in pretty good condition. The rifle has no visible marks on it. Gorgeous dark walnut with nice figure.
Thank you in advance for any help on value. Also, if you could suggest the right place to list it if I do decide to sell, that would also be appreciated. It’s a beautiful rifle, and I would like to see it go to someone who will appreciate it.
Thank you,
Flyrod
