Hi everyone I am new to this forum. I have a question I need some help with. I have a Winchester 1894 with a USCCO serial number marked on the receiver. From what I could find I believe it to be a rifle the United States Cartridge Company used to test ammunition. other than that it’s very hard to find any other information on this. Can anyone help  it’s rareness and or collectibility.

Hello Douglas,

What is the serial number on your Model 1894? If it is < 354000, you can have it lettered through the Cody Firearms Museum records office.

This rifle was at one time owned and used by the U.S. Cartridge Company, and it was undoubtedly used to test ammo.  I have seen several Winchester Single Shot rifles with very similar markings.

Here is a picture of a low-wall Single Shot with the same marking.
