Hello guys, I was wondering if anyone would be able to share any information on a rifle I have. While I have a few firearms I am lacking when it comes to determining fit, finish, and value. I have a Model 94 25-35 with a manufacture year of what I believe is 1947. I do not believe it had been reblued but the finish on the stocks appear to be shinier than I would expect from a rifle of its age. My grandfather was the original owner but I don’t think he ever tried to refinish or do any work to it other than keeping it clean. He passed away in the early 80’s and its only had a few cartridges pass through it since then. I does have one non original screw on the fore end stock band, other than that I believe it is all original. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
The Serial# 1490428
Hello Curlin,
The serial number identifies it as a 1948 production Flat-band Carbine. The butt stock does appear to have some extra finish added to it, and the bluing does appear to be factory original. In the same serial number range as your Model 94, I have surveyed (11) other guns in 25-35 WCF.

Thanks Bert,
Any idea what a ballpark value in its current condition? I’m not terribly certain this is something I’ll keep around. I usually stick to cartridges I can get easily in town. If I’d been left an old Fender bass I wouldn’t be so bothersome, I’m way more musician than marksman! Again thank you for what you’ve been able to let me know thus far.
I had collecting in my blood and in 70’s was torn between collecting Winchesters , or Fifties Stratocasters dirt cheap at a couple hundred bucks
Couldnt justify the guitars as I was motivated to play but Musically challenged and was having fun and infatuated with the Winchesters and my local crack dealer kept getting in Real nice old guns but prices were already going up
If Id Collected the Strats Id be rich…….
25-35 is a great mild Cal to shoot Try it and think about the Family tradition thing to move on

It should be worth close to $1,000, but it might take some time to find the collector who needs it to sell it for that much.
