Going to look at a model 1894 carbine in 32 special, owner says in 90% condition, have to look to confirm this, wants 800.00 for it, says it was made in 1958, is this about right or high or low?    terry

Maybe, worth a look anyway. If it’s all original I’d normally make an offer if the gun interested me. I have a few rifles made within a few years of this one and have been very impressed with the fit & finish. I suspect many were carried and shot very little unlike say, the pre-war era guns so a high-condition specimen is easy enough to find. Collector interest seems to be lukewarm for now but I’m hoping to see appreciation for these guns grow in years to come.

Terry,

If it was made in 1958, it is a Model “94” versus an “1894”.  In 90% condition, $800 is near the top end of the value range.
