Bert, question due to poor memory and comprehension. At Cody did you say my 1892 made in 1915 could possibly have a different bluing on the receiver than on the barrel and magazine? I recall something about rust bluing. Please help an old man. Don

Don,
The bluing on the barrel and magazine is different than the receiver frame. Winchester “rust” blued the barrels and magazine tubes, and they “machine” blued the receiver frames. The lever, hammer, and triggers were case color finished up to about 1915/1916, then machine blued thereafter.
