I’ve never seen this configuration before? Is it factory original? If so, is there a story behind these?
I have a 73 carbine that letters with a saber bayonet and its attached quite differently. The mag tube is cut back a short ways so the saber can slide over the barrel and the lug is made on the side of the forward band. With this one there is no method of supporting the bayonet on the barrel except the one log which will make it very weak and would twist off. The other thing I see is the lug is too large for a normal saber bayonet.
