I believe my new 1886 Takedown is from 1917? The serial number 155019. It is chambered in 33WCF and has a couple flaws. At some point in time someone added an extra dovetail to the barrel and the butt pad is missing a piece at the toe. I didnt have an 86 and jumped at the opportunity to trade into this one. The High Standard 22mag revolver I traded was pretty nice and it hurt to let it go but now I have a 100 year old classic rifle.

In my survey of the late production Model 1886s, the other specimens I have documented in the same serial number range were all received in the warehouse in the year 1919. The CFM records office can provide you with a factory letter with the exact date for a moderate fee.
