I’ve been wanting to buy an 1886 shooter in 33 Winchester and happened to see this one on GB. I’m not a collector of them but thought that these barrel markings were rather different. If you scroll down, You will see “Made in USA” and “Model 1886” in a rather large font. Especially pics 18 & 40. Was this typical for some of the last 86’s or was it for overseas sales? Bob

The guns looks original except for the sling swivels. At the end of production they did have those barrel stamps.

That looks to be from the very end of the ’86 production for sure. John Madl’s 1886 book says that these markings were after 1934. Was this parts clean-up at that point?
Also, was the 86 the only model that had the Made in the USA stamp, I don’t recall seeing it on other models.
