I have 2 that letter with 1/2 Magazine, one is 13.5 Inches the other is 12.5 which is correct–Thanks Bill

I would say both. What are the barrel lengths?

I would still say both could correct. More detail – such as years of manufacture and chambering – would be of interest.

Quite often, people ordered rifles with a magazines to a specific number of cartridges. I’ve found that some of these, (my observations in 1894’s) have a generic 1/2 mag entry even though the tube length may be an extra inch or so longer to allow for one more cartridge. The individual making the ledger entry either didn’t notice, or frankly didn’t care whether they wrote 1/2 mag or 4 cartridge. Just my two cents.
