I have never owned a 73 22.  Most of them were so shot out and cost to much for a wall hanger I really did not pay much attention but I just noticed one at a gun show and seen they have no loading gate.  Do they have a hole in the magazine just like a 22 does now are how do you load them?

It is difficult to find information on the 1873 22, thank you very much.

I have a fairly nice one with the dreaded round bbl. It is an antique in 22 short. It’s like shooting a pellet gun. Didn’t get out much over 25 yards, and shot some bottles at the dump. Really surprised when one round bounced off a bottle. Fun to shoot, but I much rather would shoot my bolt 22’s. Big Larry

I am sure this one will have way lots more power, it is a 22 Long.  Really most of them I have found are pretty well shot out.  Guess it is one of those deals where I always wanted one now I do now what.  I found a couple boxes of longs that I think I had for a 90 I owned a few years ago.

Trade it for a Model 1897 Marlin; then you’ll have something that’s more than a curio.
