Hi,

Does anyone out there know of 1873 Trapper Carbines with 16 inch barrels in 32-20 caliber?

Thanks

Hi,

Mr. James Gordon in his 1873 study could only find 2 of these Trappers. I have one of them. Are there more known?

Thanks

I have never seen ANY 32 Trappers in 1873 Carbines in Australia, hard enough to find 44s, then mostly 15 inch.   I have a  32 in 16 inch 1892 Carbine.

Could anyone tell me roughly the TOTAL number of 1873 Trappers, and the percentage in each length ?  Were Barrels over 20 inch Very Common ?

   Thanks,   Eric.

Hi,

George Madis ,in his book, found one , a 15 inch 32-20 Trapper carbine, but no 16 inch32-20 Trapper carbines. Are there any more of these 16 inch Trapper carbines out there?

I would say there are more. In Jim Gordon’s survey that was what he saw at gun shows, auction catalogs and  from personal collections for the years he was researching his book. I see his survey information is not always complete. There are 16″ carbines listed with no caliber. He just scratched the surface of what is out there for 73’s. It would take a complete records survey to find out what was made but I don’t see that happening unless all the records are digitized into a searchable format.
