Bob, what are your thoughts on this one? How’s that engraving look? Bids are going nuts. Shame there’s no lower tang for a serial number check. Anything in the survey with similar receiver stamps in front of the lifter hole?
I’m seeing a 44 SRC 3rd model with sketchy buy not terrible engraving.

Chris,
The engraving is not Winchester since it was put on much later in its life. As to how long ago that is a guess, I think I see some pits in the engraving but I’m not sure but its very sharp compared to the rest of the gun. I have no notes in the survey of that number but have seen other guns with numbers like them
