https://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php/1812236-Winchester-1873-carbine-in-44-WCF-(1896-vintage)-$3000

This gun is currently for sale here in Canada. Compared to prices I see in the US this seems to be a fair price but I am a little reluctant because of the cracks in the stock. I would appreciate your thoughts on this gun? It appears to be very original with no alterations except perhaps a replacement saddle ring as mentioned.

We can’t view the pictures unless we sign up on that web site. Can you post the pictures?

Kirk, Thank you very much for posting the photos. The gun is listed for $3000 Canadian or about $2200 US

Year of manufacture is important, in my opinion.  It’s a 3rd model, but an earlier gun might be of more interest and more expensive than a later carbine.  What is the serial range?

win4575, Yes it is obviously a 3rd Model dated to 1896 so not an early gun. Pretty rough but looks complete and untampered with.

The gun still looks like it has original blue left on the receiver, its antique and as long as the bore is good and not bulged in the states it would be worth the $2200
